Best Restaurant Layout in ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet

No single best restaurant layout for ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet has been verified. What Bandai Namco confirms is that more than 200 furniture pieces can be arranged freely, that furniture changes the mood around tables, and that different setups attract different characters and turn them into regulars. Those confirmed effects are the best design principles available before launch. This page explains them and shows how a fair layout comparison will work once the game is out.

What the publisher confirms

Bandai Namco's gameplay guide says a great restaurant needs more than great food. You customise the layout with furniture and decorations to create an atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. More than 200 unique furniture pieces can be combined and arranged freely.

The same guide says different furniture creates different moods around your tables. Some pieces may also look familiar to ONE PIECE fans. Customers can even open their own special shops inside your restaurant.

Toei Animation confirms customising decorations and layouts to reflect your style and attract loyal diners. Neither source ranks layouts or gives a performance figure. The design effects are confirmed, but no optimal arrangement is.

Themes: Whole Cake Island, Egghead and Alabasta

The launch announcement says decorative items are inspired by iconic locations such as Whole Cake Island and Egghead. It adds that each setup can attract different characters and turn visitors into loyal regulars. That is the clearest official link between decor choices and customers.

The UnGeek hands-on preview showed an Alabasta-themed interior. An official Steam screenshot also shows a lamp in Alabasta Kingdom style described as a facility that makes the table more comfortable. Themes are therefore real options with at least some described function.

None of the sources says one theme earns more than another. Theme availability should not be read as a guaranteed income boost. Pick themes for the customers and look you want, then observe the results.

How decor connects to customers

Every one of the 400-plus characters has preferences for food and for decor. Bandai Namco says fulfilling customer requests grows your fanbase and encourages them to return. Decor is therefore part of what customers ask for, not only decoration.

This means the right layout may depend on who you want to attract. A setup that suits one group of regulars may not suit another. The publisher has not listed which characters prefer which items.

Bandai Namco also says you may witness memorable interactions and friendships forming within your restaurant. Toei Animation adds that every visit brings new interactions and surprises. A layout that keeps the right regulars coming back is likely to show you more of those moments, which is a reward in its own right.

Confirmed design principles

Without a benchmark, the safest approach is to design around the effects the publisher has confirmed. The principles below follow directly from official descriptions. They are guidance on what to pay attention to, not a tested floor plan.

  • Use furniture to shape the mood around each table.
  • Choose themes that suit the characters you want to attract.
  • Look for comfort facilities, like the Alabasta Kingdom style lamp shown officially.
  • Watch customer requests for hints about decor they want.
  • Expect customers to open special shops inside the restaurant.

Special shops inside your restaurant

One confirmed feature affects how you might plan space. Bandai Namco's gameplay guide says customers can even open their own special shops inside your restaurant. That makes the restaurant more than a dining room.

The publisher has not said how much space a shop needs, where it can go or whether it adds income. Leaving some flexible room is a sensible precaution, but it is our suggestion rather than a confirmed rule. We will update this section once shops can be tested.

Familiar furniture for ONE PIECE fans

Part of the appeal of decorating is recognising pieces from the series. The gameplay guide teases that some of the furniture may look familiar, and the launch announcement points to Whole Cake Island and Egghead as inspirations. The official Alabasta Kingdom style lamp shows that other locations from the story appear too.

Everything appears in Kairosoft's pixel art style, matching the 400-plus characters who visit. With more than 200 items to choose from, there is plenty of room for a restaurant that reflects your favourite arcs. Building a themed room is a valid goal on its own, even before anyone measures which theme performs best.

Why we do not rank a best floor plan

A best layout needs measured results. Our research found no validated tile map, room size, table spacing rule, queue penalty, kitchen distance formula, placement bonus or best-profit layout. The official guide also gives no pathfinding formula or measured customer throughput.

Many restaurant games reward specific arrangements, but that does not prove the same rules apply here. We will not borrow layout rules from other games and present them as facts for this one. The released game has to show us how placement actually works.

Reading the furniture screen

An official Steam screenshot shows the furniture placement screen. A selected item appears in the room with a confirm button and a short description at the bottom. The example item is the Alabasta Kingdom style lamp.

The screen also shows a price and quantity for the item, along with your current money. We do not interpret those numbers as general prices, because they come from one screenshot. They do confirm that furniture is bought with money you earn from the restaurant.

How a fair layout comparison will work

After launch, we will compare layouts under the same conditions. Each test will use the same menu, staff, game version and number of in-game days. Only the layout will change between runs.

We will record daily sales, visitor counts and which characters return. Official screenshots show on-screen counters for today's sales and today's visitors, which makes this kind of test possible. Results will be published with screenshots so you can repeat them.

If a layout only helps on one platform or version, we will say so. If the differences are too small to measure, we will say that too. A verified answer is more useful than a confident guess.

Start designing today

Until tested layouts exist, design for atmosphere and for your customers. Use the confirmed effects above and watch how your regulars respond. Small changes are easier to judge than a complete rebuild.

Our money guide explains how the restaurant earns and why customers matter. The game guide covers how decor fits with cooking and customer requests. Both will link to tested layouts once we have them.
